The Wagga Wagga Health Service Redevelopment is being delivered by the NSW Health Infrastructure and the Murrumbidgee Local Health District.

Redevelopment of the Wagga Wagga Base Hospital including: Phase 2 – construction of new acute hospital approx 25,000sq m to replace the existing acute hospital functions, to comprise front entry including a cafe & retail area; an increase of 26 patient beds a new procedure centre; a critical care service; emergency services – new & expanded emergency department & helipad; diagnostic services – increased support services; imaging suite, operating theatres, sterile services, inpatient units, new procedure centre, critical care facilities, womenÂ’s & childrenÂ’s health facilities, angiography & cardiac catheter suite, diagnostic services, increased support services, pharmacy & new main entrance; maximum height of 8 storeys, including a rooftop helipad.

Ground level will contain emergency department, medical imaging, main entry & client services including admissions, public amenities & pharmacy.

Level 1 will contain new procedure centre, angiography & SSU.
Level 2 will contain inpatient units within 2 wings either side of main vertical core, north wing contains the critical care unit & south wing contains the medical day only beds, podium roof to be landscaped as a green roof.
Level 3 contains women’s health & new born care in the north wing, & Paediatric IPU & rooftop terrace in south wing.
Level 4 contains medical inpatient units in the north & south wings, general administration is also located in the north wing.
Level 5 contains surgical inpatient units in the north & south wings.
Level 6 is the main central plant room for the facility.
Level 7 provides access to the helipad.
Phase 3 – demolition of the existing multi-storey ward block (main building) & construction of a new entry forecourt & at grade car parking.
Precast concrete cladding, selected terracotta tile cladding with suspension rails over membrane & insulation on lightweight steel frame, selected terracotta fixed sunscreen system, anodised aluminium framed strip windows, anodised aluminium spandrel panels, shopfront glazing, curtain wall system, selected standing seam profiled metal sheet cladding over insulation on lightweight steel frame, vertical aluminium sun shading fins, exterior structural steel, fixed aluminium louvres, clear roof with integrated solar panels.
